Olivia: The Art of Presentation

Do you dream of a restaurant where the food looks as good as it tastes? Do you like to say "Ahhhhhhhh" when a truly beautiful plate of food arrives at your table? Well, Dorothy food dreams do come true at Olivia, a lovely jewel of a restaurant waiting to be discovered by the enlightened diner. The food is amazing, wonderful presentation (half the fun is watching the food arrive) the taste is dreamy and loads of the ingredients are local and organic; Olivia's is a natural Ithaca kind of place. Bonus: Olivia has outside dinning!

The Scallop appetizer was cooked just right, too often scallops can be overcooked but not here as they were succulently tender and moist with full scallop flavor. Our second appetizer, sweet potato dumplings, was delicately flavored with garlic and Parmesan cheese. Our entrees were home runs all around the table, the Jerk Pork Tenderloin was moist and generous with the pork and the orange jerk reduction was colorful and tangy on the tongue. The O Burger was a unique local beef burger (Olivia's buys their own cows so they can answer the question, "Where's the beef") combined with a beer bater and a heavenly Gorgonzola sauce. The pan seared organic Salmon was divine and the crab and avocado accompaniment was a fantastic 1-2 combo with the salmon. Desserts are a must as they made in house (even the truffles) - we ordered the Banana Split and felt like contented 12 year olds as we devoured the dish - sadly the photos we took did not turn out - next time we go (and this is place that makes you want to come back again) we will grab a photo of the Banana Split.

Olivia's has a sophisticated and cultured feel to it but one that has a west coast mellowing that says all are welcome here; Out of town guests from NYC or SF will feel at home as will the dairy farmer up the road.

We felt the prices at Olivia's were on the money for local and organic food delivered in such a splendid manner.
